Two words- pure fire!!! The ingredients were fresh, loaded with flavor. Salsa bar was excellent. It was like eating in my Tia's kitchen. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly too. I will be back again and again.

We've visited this shop twice in the last week. The first time was a quick lunch, three rolled tacos. The food was fresh, hot, and tasty. I love that they have a salsa bar with escabeche, marinated onions, cilantro & onions, along with several salsas. Today, I wanted to get try the hard shell ground beef taco. I was a bit put off by the price, but, since ground beef tacos are my taste test, I had to get one. They have a senior menu with your choice of taco, tostada, beans, and rice. Wow, just wow! It came on a real plate, nicely presented, and fresh! The beans were creamy. The rice was moist and flavorful. The taco meat was juicy and flavorful. The shell crumbled at first bite! I don't know about you, but that is how I know the shell is fresh. We are definitely adding Los Jilberto's to our regular lunch rotation!!

We moved to norCal 30 years ago where Mexican food is nowhere close to SoCal. So when we come down to visit, we get our fix as often as possible. My number one go to is always a chili verde burrito ( if they carry them) I ordered it here without hesitation and I was not disappointed. In fact I would rate it as one of my top 3 of all time. No kidding. It was huge, moist and flavorful. I even told my wife I wish I could refrain from eating it all at one time do I could take leftovers back to our hotel, but unfortunately that was not to be, I pigged out on the whole damn monster. My wife saved part of her carnitas burritos so I'll have to sneak a bite of hers if she doesn't finish it tonight. And oh yea the service was very nice and helpful, thank you

I was craving a carne asada burrito yesterday and I was not disappointed when i decided on Los Jilbertos! Ordered the NAK burrito and it was everything I was hoping for. Service was friendly and quick and free salsa bar was a plus. Only bummer was wanting to add sour cream but they have it priced at $3.75 so I passed.

Sitting in here now as I wait for my breakfast burrito- (had a huge craving this morning!!) I realized I've never left a review for this place and after the literal 10+ years grabbing food to go from here, and not one bad experience!!!! It was my time to give them the credit where it is due! Their food hits the spot every time. From breakfast burritos and their breakfast plates to their tacos and burritos. Their nachos are really good too. You can literally taste a fist of the chip. & their salsa bar is always filled with salsa and really really good spicy pickled carrots. I am always greeted kindly and quickly. Even after I order and wait for my food, I see the cashiers still running around staying busy, helping one another & helping the cooks in the back. You can see the teamwork, and you can taste the love. That's cheesy, but it's true. ***just got home and finished the burrito** Delicious as always!!!!

Needed a quick breakfast burrito fix and since I was in the area, I tried Los Jilberto's for the first time. It was a decently good size and the quality of taste was good. The steak breakfast burrito wasn't oily and had a good amount of everything. The service was pretty fast and quick. I got the order to go, but the inside has plenty of seatings and space.

During my 4 years at UCR, Jilberto's was always a late night staple. While it certainly isn't the best Mexican food I've ever had, the portions are always more than generous and the food is always good. Their self serve salsa bar is always a plus especially after covid shut down most of them. Probably gonna have to go at least a couple more times before I graduate but I'm gonna miss this place.

Had a burrito with rice, beans and carne asada . The price was $14.52. The burrito has some length but the burrito lacks thickness . In the photo shows the comparison of the thickness of the burrito to the ramekin . The burrito could have more rice or beans filled in the burrito for this price .

Came back to riverside to visit our old Alma mater and decided to visit old food spots we liked to eat. Lost Jilberto's was a must for the carne asada fries! Love a good late night visit back then and have some fries. Salsas are a must to eat with the fries if you want a slight kick in your bite. We also tried the chicken taquitos Those were alright. I would stick to the carne asada fries since they still tasted as good as I remember from our old college days. Good amount of meat and toppings.
